Criteria
The Certificate studentís motivation may relate simply to personal interest or more specifically to real career needs to meet lifelong learning objectives. Entry to the Certificate Program, made flexible to cater to a wide array of academic backgrounds, may be through a combination of past career experience and academic background.
To qualify for a UBC Certificate in Mining Studies, you must accumulate a minimum of 9 days in lecture-based short courses, do a project related to each short course and complete 160 hours of on-line courses.
Each mining studies course is comprised of the following three integrated components:
online component delivered through EduMine (www. edumine.com) via the Internet;
classroom short courses (one, two or three days) delivered through the University of British Columbia; and,
a class assigned project, submitted for grading within one month of completing the classroom component
Program Length and Fees
Participants should typically complete all program requirements in two years. Courses are taken and paid for on a course-by-course basis. Fees vary according to course length and format.
