Taseko is seeking applicants for the following role: Administrative Assistant, Engineering

General Accountability:

Based out of Taseko's head office in Vancouver and reporting to the Chief Engineer the Administrative Assistant will support an experienced corporate engineering team working on a broad spectrum of projects at various stages of design, permitting, construction and operation

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide day to day administrative support
  • Management of all Mineral Titles
  • Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping for engineering projects as requested
  • Generating, revising, and keeping master copies of Gantt charts in Microsoft Project
  • File system management
  • Preparation of reports and presentations, formatting documents
  • Scheduling appointments and meetings as requested, arranging hospitality, booking meeting rooms,
  • Taking meeting minutes and summarizing action items
  • Generating expense reports for the engineering team
  • Generating and tracking purchase orders
  • Floor Warden (First Aid)
  • Checking all copiers and the plotter daily for toner outages, paper, and making any necessary service calls
  • Kitchen (both executive and main), lounge area and boardrooms upkeep
  • Checking of office supplies/stock and ordering low or missing items
  • Posting of any news releases, new hires, etc. to both the copy room and main kitchen’s boards making sure any postings over a month old are discarded (except for news releases which are discarded once a new release is out)
  • Other administrative duties as required

Education and Experience:

  • High school graduate with post-secondary administration courses
  • 2 plus years in an administrative role or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Skills and Competencies:

  • High ethical standards, accountability, and integrity.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize several assignments at one time.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively and within established timelines.
  • Strong MS Office and computer skills.
  • Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping skills would be an asset.
  • High ethical standards, accountability, and integrity.
  • Demonstrated, relationship management, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven initiative and self-motivation.
  • Typing speed >40 wpm
  • Ability to maintain information confidentiality
  • Attention to detail/multitasking
