Westshore Terminals Limited Partnership is owned by Westshore Terminals Investment Corporation. Operating since 1970 in Port of Vancouver, Westshore is the terminal of choice for Canadian coal mines and for United States mines in the Powder River Basin of Montana and Wyoming. Westshore Terminals is capable of handling up to 33 million tonnes of coal annually and ships to over 20 countries worldwide, providing billions in dollars of export revenue for Canada and British Columbia.
The opportunity is for an Operations Duty Superintendent to actively manage the people, planning and production components of Westshore Terminals’ operations. The Superintendent will act to ensure all safety, environmental and operational standards are adhered to and production goals are met. The Operations Duty Superintendent will provide direction and leadership to workers from two locals of the ILWU Union who help contribute to the business’ success.
The ideal candidate will bring experience managing industrial operations in a unionized environment. He/she has productively managed supervisors, teams and projects in an operation that requires high volumes to meet its commitments working in a 24/7 operation. The successful candidate will be committed to creating a work environment where safety is first and foremost in everyone’s mind and will truly believe that workplace safety is a critical component of operational excellence and top financial performance.
