Position
Senior Sustainability Engineer

Location
Vancouver, BC with travel as required to the Copper Mountain Mine and other exploration locations. This position provides opportunity to work remotely or in the office providing flexibility in location and lifestyle.

Summary
Reporting to the Director, Sustainable Development, the Senior Sustainability Engineer is responsible for coordinating Copper Mountain Mining Corporation’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) objectives, performance, and reporting. This includes the Company’s participation in the Mining Association of Canada’s (MAC) Towards Sustainable Mining (TSM) program which is a globally recognized, award winning sustainability performance program.

This key role provides an opportunity to work with an evolving sustainability team and play an important role in defining the future of sustainable mining, through advancing new ideas and supporting implementation of new technologies. Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate company TSM activities and implementation. This includes leading the TSM interface between the Company and MAC to maintain compliance with TSM and leading the company engagement with MAC on TSM advancements.
• Identify and support implementation of energy, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, water and waste performance improvement initiatives to meet or exceed targets to support Copper Mountain’s continuous improvement objectives.
• Coordinate company sustainability analytics and reporting, including engaging with the Company team to develop, track and build out meaningful performance metrics to support the Company’s annual sustainability report.
• Coordinate company GHG emissions reporting, including project-specific reporting for CleanBC.
• Support implementation of other company ESG reporting objectives.
• Work with the Director, Sustainable Business Development on developing and implementing energy efficiency and GHG emissions reduction projects to support company net-zero target.
• Support preparation of funding applications for clean energy and GHG reduction projects.
• Assist the Director, Sustainable Development with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, cost and schedule.
• Participate in meetings and communications related to ESG initiatives with project teams and site management, including visits to the operating mine sites.
• Participate in conferences and networking events to share our ESG story.
• Develop, execute and document project assignments in compliance with committed timelines and project goals, and per established policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.

Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s and/or advanced degree in Engineering; equivalent combination of education and experience in related field of study may be considered.
• 4-6 years of mining related experience, ideally with some mine site working experience.
• Demonstrated experience implementing successful new initiatives.
• A passionate interest in sustainability is expected.
