VANCOUVER, BC – Michael Goehring, President & CEO of the Mining Association of British Columbia (MABC) made the following statement on the provincial government’s pause on the expansion of the provincial sales tax (PST) expansion to professional services:
“MABC appreciates the provincial government’s decision to reverse their plans to extend the PST to professional services which would have raised business costs for mine developers and operators at a time of unprecedented economic uncertainty and volatility.
“British Columbia has the critical minerals, precious metals, and steelmaking coal the world needs. As global demand for these materials grows more mines mean more paycheques for British Columbians in every region of our province.”
